Cathedral of the Incarnation
Diocese of the Eastern United States
Anglican Church in America
Orlando, Florida
September 8, 2010
The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
With profound gratitude and filial respect to the Successor of St. Peter, the Chapter of the Cathedral of the Incarnation warmly receives the Apostolic Constitution, Anglicanorum Coetibus, of His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI.
Having prayerfully considered the aforementioned papal legislation, along with its associated Complementary Norms, and with due regard for the accompanying canonical commentary by Fr. Gianfranco Ghirlanda, S.J., Rector of the Pontifical Gregorian University (all published under the auspices of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on November 4, 2009) and recognizing in the Holy Father’s most generous response to the pleas of various Anglican groups our common desire and holy commitment to achieve the reconciliation of our small flock with the Catholic Church in a corporate fashion and with due regard to our own precious Anglican Patrimony, the Cathedral Chapter now unanimously resolves:
1. that the Bishop of the Diocese of the Eastern United States, the Dean of the Cathedral, and Officers of the Chapter be authorized to communicate directly with the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) or its authorized liaison for the territory of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) on behalf of the Cathedral of the Incarnation to the end that the Cathedral parish eventually be received in its integrity into the full communion of the Catholic Church through an Anglican Personal Ordinariate as envisioned by Anglicanorum Coetibus; and,
2. that the text of this Resolution be published immediately on the parish web site and the online journal, The Anglo-Catholic, with copies to be posted directly to the Holy Father, William Cardinal Levada, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and the authorized liaison for the United States of America.
Signed,
Very Rev. Fr. Mark Siegel

Gaudeamus!
It's about time for some good news — and also it's good to see an expression of the faithfulness of so many in the ACA. Now I hope more parishes will follow this excellent example.
And now our long awaited journey joyfully begins.
Joy and Prayers from the North of England. We share in your faith and commitment and give thanks to God.
Welcome Home!
Wonderful news!!!

*meaning "Cradle Roman Catholic"
I kinda like not being hyphenated.
Thank you for your kind words.

Amen and amen!
Truly wonderful news! Welcome home!
Y E S !!!!!!!
God speed!
I still truly believe that once an Ordinariate is erected, more clergy and parishes – from all continuing bodies – will feel a desire to join. It will create an excitement, a buzz, rather than the anxiety and nervousness that many are feeling now.
(Of course, my concern expressed in another thread about the danger of over-driving children and nursing mothers will remain nonetheless.)
Welcome home!
I have a question for Christian, the other website who uses ours as fodder for their own purposes has stated, why only Incarnation, what about the other parishes, are any of them coming along? They were not mentioned in the letter. I knew they would find something negative to say.
If you can't answer at this time it is fine, as some issues must be kept quiet due to this type of evil destortions. It might be that each individual parish must commit to the Ordinariate on their own.
I am very happy for you and the Cathedral of the Incarnation and pray many others will follow.
Rest assured that there are other parishes and missions in the Diocese of the Eastern United States (ACA) which will be pursuing unity with the Catholic Church under the terms of the Apostolic Constitution.
A few months ago, I read Father Malschi Martin's book – "Hostage to the Devil," in which he recounts the exorcisms of five (then) living Americans. It is a book not for the faint of heart.
Just before the demon is expelled, in all cases, the writhing and twisting and screeching etc is recounted.
As I read the tripe written by the principal spewer of vitriol at that other blog, the apparent speaking organ for the one, holy, Anglican Church of Athens, Georgia, I am amazed at the similarity in the conduct, actions, demeanor, and complete lack of respect for The Church which is demonstrated, and how similar it is to the satanic forces recounted in Father Martin's book.
The following quote from the book, seems relevant:
"…Evil spirits have the power to know without reasoning, to remember what is available to their knowledge from eternity, and to use that knowledge to influence, cajole, frighten, and otherwise affect the minds and hearts of men and women so that they desert the plan of God and score another victory of rebellion against good…"
Being led by ones conscience in a certain direction is one thing, to be actively engaged in fighting against people taking advantage of the Apostolic Constitution is quite another.

Gay,
So few people read the Continuum blog that Fr. Hart, to get exposure, has somehow gotten VirtueOnline to post his essays. And even there, there is scant review and comment. Except from those who followed over from the Continuum blog itself.
If I am not mistaken, from the beginning the understanding was the Ordinariate was to be built parish by parish, person by person. The objection or "got ya" slant of the Continuum is a desperate gasp to not slip into oblivion.
Fr. Hart and company are frightened and put out. No one, Catholic, Orthodox or Anglican, takes them seriously. If you really read his "essays," the Church and the Holy Father would have to repent with sackcloth and ashes before they would be allowed communion in the Anglican Catholic Church.
I am off to write my letter for my family of 7 to join.
Fr. Mark
From the RC Traditionalist perspective:
Congratulations!
The recusants longed for this happy development – now their long vigil is beginning to bear fruit.
The waters of the Tiber are warm and we hope you do not find the swim too difficult.
For you and for many other blessings I give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His mercy endures forever.
Welcome.
It seems that we may soon have another parish following the lead of Incarnation Cathedral within the Diocese of the East of the ACA.
Please listen to this excellent sermon from Fr. Edward Meeks of Christ the King Church (ACA) in Towson, Maryland.

Thank God I have lived to see this day. I can see Home from this hill. Praise be to God!
May God richly bless you in your endeavour and give you the joy and peace that full Catholic communion brings.
Mr. Williams,
Is "full Catholic communion" fully catholic?
Is "full Catholic communion" fully catholic?
Yes, and fully Catholic as well. The expression "full Catholic communion" means "in full communion with the pope" (and, by extension, all others who are in full communion with him).
Norm.
From a fellow convert, welcome home!
I believe that this would be the first Catholic cathedral in the United States with a chapter. Am I wrong? I'm all for it.
