This is a point I made elsewhere on The Anglo-Catholic, when discussing tolerance. Laws are necessary, but even better is full conversion to Christ and the Gospel.

Many Christians and almost Christians in the United States look desparately to the Constitution, to the Supreme Court and to law in general a guarantee that we can hope for life, liberty and the persuit of happiness.
But secular laws change. Even now the nation has a "law" that does recognize an unborn child as a "person under the law," and in the law's consequences gives license to those who wish to see a child as the private property of his mother and therfore expendable as her caprice.
The homosexual lobby too sees the advantages of using the law against the conscience of the nation by changing the law to allow and even make sacrosanct their disordered relationships.
We need more than the law.
Saint Paul hits on it over and over.
We need a savior, and we have one. All one needs to do is accept that salvation and proceed.
