Next Steps for "Groups of Anglicans"

Several days ago, I wrote about a new initiative to establish an information portal/communications hub for the discussion and coordination of new Anglican Catholic communities to be brought under the personal ordinariates authorized by Anglicanorum Coetibus.  Due to the very positive response I have received, I have decided to move forward with the project.

I am now looking for beta testers for the forum software.  A new discussion forum will be created for each nascent Anglican Catholic group, and I would like every group to have at least one moderator.  The role of the forum moderator will be to facilitate the discussion, referee when necessary, and to serve as a point of contact with the site administration.  Very minimal technical skills are necessary; if you are able to comment on this blog, you are qualified to be a forum moderator.

If you would like to volunteer to be a forum moderator — and thus launch a new Anglican Catholic group in your area — please do the following:

  1. Leave a comment on this post with your name and the city/region for which you would like a discussion forum created.
  2. Email me privately at ccampbell at threefishgroup dot com.  Please include the city/region in the message subject (e.g. "New Anglican Group for Norfolk, Virginia") and your contact information in the body of the message.

I have already installed the forum software on The Anglo-Catholic server and testing should begin in the next several days.  My goal is to make the site available to the general public by December 31, 2009.

P.S. If you have yet to signal your interest in the formation of a new Anglican group in your area, please comment on the original post.

I am interested in becoming a member of any Anglican Catholic group in the Greater Toronto area. I would like to help out in any way but I fear my tech skills are a little lacking, as far as functioning as a moderator. Please email me at creaser64@yahoo.com if you are in the Toronto, Canada area and would like to be a member of any Personal Ordinariate as an individual (as opposed to a member of a TAC parish).

Actually, I suppose I can moderate the Toronto, Ontario forum. I will bone up on some computer skills and try my best because I really would like to enter into communion with Rome as an Anglican, rather than as some regular RCIA candidate.

I would be happy to moderate a forum area that would cover the Philippines. Perhaps there will be a need for an forum to discuss countries that are lightly populate with Anglicans, if they are populated at all, though I understand this forum will be mostly for the US. If my services could be better used elsewhere let me know.
